5 Activities to Be a Tourist in Your Own Nashville

Rediscover the city with fresh eyes—and a little local pride..

🤠 Howdy, Nashville. This is The Nashville Grapevine, the newsletter that brings you (almost) all things Nashville.

We know the people who live in Nashville want to distance themselves from the tourists as much as they can sometimes, but that means you are missing out on some great activities in Nashville. Whether you are a tourist or a local, you should check these out:

  • Grand Ole Opry Country Music Show

  • Goo Goo Chocolate Tasting and Candy Making Class

  • Mural Art Tour of Nashville by Golf Cart

  • Country Music Hall of Fame

  • Neighborhood Food Tour on E-bikes

Let’s get into it.

Grand Ole Opry Country Music Show

I had to start this one out with the classic. Even if you are a Nashville local, you should get out to a Grand Ole Opry show every once in a while. Usually, you will get a great mix of up-and-coming stars and the people who paved the way.

Goo Goo Chocolate Tasting & Candy Making Class

The Goo Goo cluster is a Nashville staple and was America’s first combination candy bar. The class lasts one hour, and you get to design your own candy while getting a take-home souvenir in the meantime. Experience Nashville history and enjoy a sweet treat or two while doing it.

Mural Art Tour of Nashville by Golf Cart

Nashville is packed with unique murals and artwork around the city. I always love spotting any that I have never seen before. This 1.5-2 hour tour gives you premium access to many of these murals, and don’t worry, you can get the Instagram pics in.

Country Music Hall of Fame

Discover what made the great city of Nashville into what it is by digging into the Country music roots. The museum is 130,000 square feet and packed with over 2.5 million artifacts. It doesn’t matter who you are; you have to experience this if you love Country music!

Neighborhood Food Tour on E-bikes

This 6-mile ride includes a picnic lunch near the Parthenon and finishes off with an ice cream treat. This is a great way to discover some new date night food spots or just see the city through a new lens.
