Nashville doesn't need another coffee shop list, but we're giving you one anyway because these five earned it. We polled our own cups (research is hard) and landed on a mix that spans neighborhoods, cultures, and caffeine philosophies. Grab a mug, we're going on a tour.

🌿 Dose Coffee & Tea

Dose has quietly become one of the most consistent coffee stops in the city, with locations in West Nashville, East Nashville, and Old Hickory. They roast their own beans, so the Signature Blend and Espresso Blend taste like someone actually cared about the sourcing instead of just slapping a logo on a bag. The food menu holds its own too, with vegan biscuit sandwiches and an Everything bagel that regulars drive across town for. If you want a coffee shop that feels like a neighborhood living room no matter which side of town you're on, Dose is it. Try the Barcelona.

🥞 The Perch

Brentwood's cozy little crepe and coffee spot has been a brunch staple for years, and it shows in the way regulars talk about it. Sweet and savory crepes share the menu with Belgian waffles, omelets, and specialty coffee drinks, which makes it an easy pick whether you're craving dessert for breakfast or something more substantial. It's a small footprint with a big following, tucked into Franklin Road with weekday and weekend hours that make it a reliable go to. Perfect for a slow Saturday morning that doesn't need to be Instagrammed to be good. Try the Honey Cinnamon Latte.

🌊 Brisa Coffee Co

Brisa is proof that you don't need a storefront to build a following, this mobile coffee and matcha cart is located on 12 South near the new White’s Mercantile. The speciality drinks are worth coming back for, and some of my favorite coffees I have ever had in town were here. It's the kind of small local business that makes you feel like you're in on something before it blows up. Try the blackberry cobbler latte.

🫘 The Horn

What started as a father selling sambusas out of the back of his car in Nashville turned into two brick and mortar cafes serving Somali chai, coffee, and street food with real heart behind it. The chai is the headliner here, bold, spiced, and unlike anything else brewing in this city, but the sambusas (beef, chicken, veggie, or breakfast style) are just as worth the trip. It's a family-run spot that wears its story proudly, right down to the merch. If you've never had Somali chai, The Horn is the place to fix that. Try the dirty chai.

🥯 Sam and Zoe's

As the second-oldest coffee shop in Nashville, Sam and Zoe's has earned its "best coffee shop" awards the old-fashioned way: by just being really good for a really long time. The Berry Hill spot does made to order breakfast and lunch alongside its coffee menu, with a pickup window for anyone who ordered ahead. It's proof that some of the best coffee in town isn't the newest, it's the one that's been doing it right for a while. A true Nashville staple that deserves its spot on every local's rotation. Try the Cuban.
