5 of our Favorite Breweries in Nashville

IPAs, pizza pilsners, crisp ales, and even cider

🤠 Howdy, Nashville. This is The Nashville Grapevine, the newsletter that brings you (almost) all things Nashville.

We are going to switch things up this week and tell you about five of our favorite Nashville breweries:

  • Jackalope Brewing Company

  • Southern Grist Brewing Co

  • Smith & Lentz

  • Bearded Iris Brewing

  • Diskin Cider

Let’s get into it.

Jackalope Brewing Company

Located in Wedgewood-Houston and recently updated, this is a great spot to hang out before or after a Nashville SC match. They also do weekly and monthly events in their indoor or outdoor space.

Beer recommendation: Lovebird

TOGETHER WITH

Rife Headwear is a locally owned Nashville headwear brand specializing in quality and designs.

Southern Grist Brewing Co

Started in 2016, Southern Grist has two locations now: The Nations and East Nashville. They focus on creativity but also have a few good classics any time of the year.

Beer recommendation: Southern Crisp

Smith & Lentz

Located in East Nashville, this brewery doubles as a pizzeria, and a pretty good one at that. If you are familiar with Dave Portnoy’s pizza reviews, he even checked out Smith & Lentz while in Nashville.

Beer recommendation: Pizza Palace Pilsner

Bearded Iris Brewing

With two locations in Germantown and West Nashville, this brewery skews towards more towards IPAs and hops than most. I will say, I am not a huge IPA fan, but the Homestyle is delicious.

Beer recommendation: Homestyle IPA

Diskin Cider

This one is a little different, but I couldn’t leave them off. Diskin is Nashville’s first craft cidery. It is a great hangout spot, they constantly have events and things going on, and the cider is pretty dang good.

Beer (well, cider, I mean) recommendation: Bob’s Your Uncle
