5 of our Favorite Nashville Desserts

Ice cream, bananas, fries, and carrot cake..

🤠 Howdy, Nashville. This is The Nashville Grapevine, the newsletter that brings you (almost) all things Nashville.

We have a sweet tooth this week and are going to tell you about 5 of our favorite Nashville desserts. This won’t be your typical Nashville dessert article, which normally only features items that top off a $300 tab. Okay, well, maybe a couple. Here we go:

  • Bobbie’s Dairy Dip’s Ice Cream

  • Sperry’s Banana Foster

  • Fryce Cream

  • J. Alexander’s Carrot Cake

  • The Loveless Cafe’s Banana Pudding

Let’s get into it.

Bobbie’s Dairy Dip’s Dancing Dip

The Dancing Dip is a Bobbie’s staple and consists of a vanilla cone dipped in chocolate and topped off with rainbow sprinkles.

Bobbie’s was originally established in 1951 and is still going strong. Go check them out on Charlotte Ave!

Sperry’s Banana Foster

Sperry’s is a steakhouse, so this is a more expensive option on this list, but their banana foster is one of the best desserts in town.

It is made tableside and comes in a portion for 2!

Fryce Cream

This is a newer option in Nashville, but it deserves its shine. Located in 12 South, Fryce Cream serves up fries and ice cream. Hence the name.

The sweetness of the cold ice cream pairs perfectly with the saltiness of the warm fries! Don’t knock it until you try it.

J. Alexander’s Carrot Cake

Another fancier option, but worth the price of admission. I am a carrot cake connoisseur, and this is one of the best carrot cakes you will find.

It is served warm every time!

The Loveless Cafe’s Banana Pudding

Also started in 1951, The Loveless Cafe serves up some of your favorite Southern favorites. Most importantly, this banana pudding.

It is a little outside of town, but worth the trip!
