5 of our Favorite Nashville Dive Bars

Billiards, darts, cheap drinks, Ed Sheeran, and much more

🤠 Howdy, Nashville. This is The Nashville Grapevine, the newsletter that brings you (almost) all things Nashville.

We are going to switch things up this week and tell you about five of our favorite Nashville dive bars:

  • Melrose Billiard Parlor

  • The Villager Tavern

  • Santa’s Pub

  • Lucky’s 3 Star Bar

  • Wilburn Street Tavern

Let’s get into it.

Melrose Billiard Parlor

As dive as dive gets. This is the spot to go drink cheap beer and play pool in Nashville. They used to allow smoking, but with little ventilation, it is now smoke-free so do not worry.

Established in 1944 and still going strong, go check them out in Melrose!

Villager Tavern

We’ve written about their sandwiches and gumbo before, but the beer, darts, and atmosphere are what make Villager Tavern great.

Check them out on your birthday and drink a beer from the dog bowl! Don’t worry, it is (maybe) sanitary.

Santa’s Pub

Located in what I believe is a double-wide trailer by Geodis Park, this is the place to sing karaoke late into the night. It is also one of the few places in Nashville where you will need cash.

You have a great chance to run into Ed Sheeran here, as it is known to be his favorite place in town!

Lucky’s 3 Star Bar

Okay, this bar is not as divey as the rest, but we still love it. Located in Wedgewood Houston, this is a great spot to watch or game or just hang out with friends.

Go try out one of their insane hot dog creations!

Wilburn Street Tavern

Probably the most low-key dive bar on the list, and maybe even around town. This spot is a classic East Nashville bar.

A great spot to hang out after you eat at Redheaded Stranger as well!
