🍽️ Restaurant Run of the Week: Bottle Cap
Perfect fuel for a laid-back 12 South afternoon..

🤠 Howdy, Nashville. This is The Nashville Grapevine, the newsletter that brings you (almost) all things Nashville.
This week’s ice storm has been no joke. Power outages, icy roads, and a lot of uncertainty across the city. We just want to start by saying we’re thinking about our neighbors, friends, and local businesses as Nashville works its way back to normal. Times like these really show who steps up for the community.
Here is a good article on resources during this storm: https://www.tennessean.com/story/weather/2026/01/26/tennessee-power-outage-map-what-to-do-winter-storm-snow/88361156007/
While a lot of the neighborhood was without power, Bottle Cap stayed open the last few days and kept serving the 12 South community. Warm food, cold drinks, and a place to sit when many people didn’t have either at home. Located right in the heart of 12 South, Bottle Cap has always felt like a true neighborhood spot.
The vibe is casual and comfortable. TVs on, music playing, and a mix of locals and visitors warming up and grabbing a bite. It’s the kind of spot you can drop into for a quick lunch or hang out a little longer with a beer tower and decompress. Yes, a beer tower, which features 100 ounces of your beer choice.
And if the name sounds familiar, there’s a reason. Bottle Cap caught the attention of Guy Fieri, who stopped by while filming Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. When a spot earns a visit from Flavortown, you know they’re doing something right.

🔎 Last Eaten Review: Philly Cheesesteak
The Philly cheesesteak at Bottle Cap was better than I was expecting. This isn’t a sloppy, overloaded mess. It’s done right. Thin-sliced steak, cooked hot, packed with flavor, and piled into a soft roll that actually holds up. The meat is juicy without being greasy, and every bite hits with that classic cheesesteak comfort you’re hoping for. What really makes it work is the balance. Nothing is overpowering, nothing feels like an afterthought. It’s not trying to reinvent the Philly. It’s just executing it well.
