The Nations has quietly become one of the more interesting neighborhoods in Nashville over the last few years, and Brotherly Love Cheesesteaks fits right into what makes it work. No frills, no gimmicks, just a cool neighborhood spot doing one thing really well and doing it with a lot of heart. The vibe inside is laid back and comfortable. Bar area, TVs, a dog-friendly patio, and a neon sign on the wall that reads "Now That's Love." It's got personality.

The concept is straightforward. Authentic Philly cheesesteaks made the right way: sizzling steak, melty cheese, soft toasted roll, no shortcuts. They also do smashburgers, salads, apps, and a drink menu with draft beers including their own house brew. It hits the bases.

The food was really good. I've never had a cheesesteak in Philadelphia but if Brotherly Love is anywhere close to the real thing, now I understand what all the fuss is about. Everything was well built, packed with flavor, and the kind of meal that makes you want to come back as soon as possible. I went for lunch and already have dinner and drinks on the radar for the next visit, because this place deserves more than just a quick in and out.

Brotherly Love is exactly the kind of independently owned neighborhood spot Nashville needs more of. Get over to The Nations and try it.

The OG Cheesesteak is exactly what it sounds like and exactly what you want. Sizzling steak, melty cheese, soft toasted roll, and a bite that makes you immediately understand why people are so serious about a good Philly cheesesteak. It was fire from start to finish and the kind of sandwich where you look down halfway through and get a little sad knowing it's going to be gone soon.
