π½οΈ Restaurant Run of the Week: CoreLife Eatery in Franklin
The fast-casual lunch spot in Cool Springs that actually makes you feel good after you eat..

π€ Howdy, Nashville. This is The Nashville Grapevine, the newsletter that brings you (almost) all things Nashville.
Letβs get into it.

Let's be real. Most of us default to the same three or four fast-casual spots on a weekday lunch break. You know the drill: same line, same burrito bowl, same mild guilt somewhere around the third bite. If that sounds familiar, CoreLife Eatery at Cool Springs is worth putting into the rotation.
Tucked into the Cool Springs Boulevard retail corridor in Franklin, CoreLife has been quietly building a loyal following since it opened its doors. The concept is straightforward: scratch-made bowls, wraps, tacos, and broth bowls built on real, whole ingredients, but the execution is what earns the repeat visits. Everything is made in-house daily: the dressings, the sauces, the broths, even the beet lemonade. Nothing comes from a packet or a can, and you can taste the difference.
So... is it basically a better Chipotle?
Kind of, yes, and we mean that as a genuine compliment. You get the same satisfying build-your-own format and the same quick-service speed, but the ingredient list is in a completely different league. We're talking antibiotic-free chicken, GMO-free bases, no artificial colors or additives, and a menu that goes well beyond rice and beans. The range here is legitimately impressive for a fast-casual spot. There's also a solid kids' menu and plant-based smoothies if you need to bring the whole crew. And if you've got kids in tow, Sunday is the day to go. The Franklin location offers kids eat free on Sundays, which makes it an easy call for a family lunch or dinner without blowing the budget.
The line moved a little slower than you'd expect for a fast-casual spot, and it was clear there are still some kinks to work out on the service side. But the staff was attentive and genuinely seemed to care about getting your order right, the kind of thing that's hard to fake and easy to appreciate. You could tell this isn't a team just going through the motions. For Franklin locals who are tired of the usual Cool Springs lunch rut, CoreLife is a genuine change of pace. Fast enough for a weekday, fresh enough that you won't be dragging through your afternoon.

π Last Eaten Review: Steak Box
The Steak Box comes loaded with sliced tri-tip over purple rice and napa slaw, two sides, and a drizzle of boom boom sauce that brings just enough creamy heat to pull it all together. We went with Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese on the side, and the mac and cheese alone is worth the trip; it showed up with a golden crumb crust on top that you're absolutely not expecting at a fast-casual spot. Rich, creamy, and just a little crunchy on top. Everything else on the tray was solid, but that mac and cheese was the clear MVP.
