If you know Edley's Bar-B-Que, you already trust the name. They've been one of Nashville's go-to BBQ spots for years and have earned every bit of that reputation. So when they announced a new concept built around tacos, it was hard not to be curious. Edley's Tacos in Sylvan Park is the answer to that curiosity, and it delivers. Same care, same quality, same hospitality; just wrapped in a tortilla this time. A second location in Melrose is already on the way, opening in May 2026, which tells you everything you need to know about how well this thing has landed.

The Sylvan Park location is a vibe from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is top tier for the neighborhood, casual and comfortable without feeling like an afterthought, the kind of spot that fits perfectly into the Murphy Road corridor. One of the smarter touches is the QR code at your table that lets you order drinks and get refills brought right to you without having to flag anyone down. It's a small detail that makes a big difference when you're deep into a plate of tacos and don't want to move.

The concept is straightforward, and it works. You pick your protein, choose your style: classic, alambre, or birria, and then head to the salsa bar to build it out however you want. The salsa bar alone is worth the trip. Taqueria Verde, jalapeño ranch, escabeche, cowboy candy, a lot is going on over there, and you're going to want to try all of it. Take your time with it. There are no wrong answers.

The steak and chicken tacos I got were classic style with guac added, and both were really solid. The steak had great flavor, and the chicken was fresh and well-seasoned, the kind of thing that reminds you that good ingredients don't need much help. With the salsa bar giving you full control over where the flavors go, every bite ends up feeling like yours. Edley's has always known how to make people feel taken care of, and that instinct carries right over into this new concept. Get there while the Sylvan Park location still feels like a secret.

🔎 Last Eaten Review: We got a Haul

The tacos came out fresh and looking exactly like they should, and they tasted even better. We added guac to both, and it was the right call. The steak and chicken were both well-seasoned and fresh, and good enough that going back for a second round was a no-brainer. The real fun, though, is the salsa bar; we tried one of everything, and every single option brought something different to the table. Pickled onions, cowboy candy, escabeche, pico, tomatillo, jalapeño ranch, the spread is impressive, and it turns every taco into its own little experiment. The Poblano mac and cheese was a winner and a must-order, creamy with just the right amount of smoky pepper flavor coming through. The slaw was fine, but probably not something we'd go back for. Overall, a really strong showing, and the fact that we went back for more tacos says everything you need to know.
