🍽️ Restaurant Run of the Week: Fenwick's 300

A Classic Diner with Modern Nashville Vibes..

In partnership with

🤠 Howdy, Nashville. This is The Nashville Grapevine, the newsletter that brings you (almost) all things Nashville.

As some of you may have noticed, we skipped our 5 best things of the weekend last week. This is the first time we have missed an edition, and it wasn’t because we forgot. With a lot of the city still out of power, things to do didn’t feel as important. Rest assured, we will be back with vengeance this week.

Let’s get into it.

Support the Grapevine

The Nashville Grapevine is 100% free and independently owned and operated. Your contributions go toward keeping us going so we can keep supplying you with the good eats and events. I appreciate any and all support!

Nestled on 8th Ave in Nashville’s fast-evolving Melrose neighborhood, Fenwick’s serves up all-day breakfast and lunch with classic diner vibes and a few twists. The name, a nod to Kevin Bacon’s character in the movie Diner and a perfect bowling score, hints at the spot’s laid-back, nostalgic spirit.

Fenwick’s 300 hits that sweet spot between throwback diner and neighborhood hangout. Think open booths, friendly staff, and a welcoming bar crafted from an old bowling lane, a playful piece of the space’s history. I love it when places honor the buildings that stood before them. Whether you’re grabbing coffee from their Bongo Java bar on the way to work or settling in for a boozy brunch with friends, it feels like a place made for lingering.

Fenwick’s 300 isn’t just a place to grab breakfast — it’s a piece of Nashville. With affordable prices, a community feel, and a menu that delivers hearty brunch staples with personality, it’s easy to see why it stays crowded and why it’s one of my most visited spots in town.

Weekends can get busy so I suggest showing up early or grabbing a spot at the bar.

If you spend a good amount on Amazon, this card could easily be worth $100s in cash back every year. And — even better — you could get approved extremely fast. If approved, you’ll receive an insanely valuable welcome bonus deposited straight into your Amazon account, ready to use immediately.

You also don’t have to jump through any hoops to get this bonus. No extra work or special spending requirements. Get approved, and it’s yours.

This might be one of the most powerful cash back cards available, especially considering how much most people spend on Amazon each month. It gives you the chance to earn cash back on the purchases you’re already making, turning your routine shopping into something that actually pays you back.

If you shop at Amazon or Whole Foods, this card could help you earn meaningful cash back on every purchase you make. But this offer won’t last forever — and if you’re an Amazon Prime member, this card is as close to a no-brainer as it gets.

  • 📍Location: Melrose

  • 🍴Recommendation: Get the strawberry jam for the biscuits

  • ⭐️ Highlight: Diner feel, affordable food

🔎 Last Eaten Review: Basic Breakfast

The Fenwick’s Basic Breakfast is one of those breakfasts that reminds you why simple classics never go out of style. I go with sausage links instead of bacon, fried eggs, and a warm biscuit with strawberry jam, and every piece hits the spot. The sausage is savory and filling without being greasy, the fried eggs come out exactly how you want them with set whites and a rich yolk, and the biscuit is soft and buttery with that perfect hit of sweetness once the strawberry jam gets involved. I usually sub the home fries for fresh berries, which keeps things a little lighter and adds a bright, refreshing balance to the plate. The home fries are delicious as well, though. It’s not flashy or overthought, just a really solid, comforting breakfast that feels right at home in a neighborhood spot like Fenwick’s.
