Some restaurants open and close before you even get a chance to try them. Mediterranean Cuisine in Brentwood is the opposite of that. Authentic Greek and Lebanese cooking since 2001, tucked into a quiet little spot next to a pond that makes it feel like a world away from the usual Brentwood lunch rush. Over two decades of serving fresh, made-from-scratch Mediterranean food to a loyal local following that keeps coming back because the quality never slips. That kind of staying power doesn’t happen by accident.

The menu is exactly what you want from a Mediterranean spot. Gyros, shawarma, kofta, falafel, stuffed grape leaves, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, hummus, Greek salads, grilled chicken, and a mixed grill plate that looks like it was built for someone who couldn’t make up their mind and didn’t want to. Everything is made fresh, and it shows in every bite. The portions are generous in a way that feels almost old-fashioned, the kind of restaurant that still believes in sending you home full without charging you a fortune to do it. It’s a really good bang for your buck and one of the more underrated lunch spots South of town.

And then there’s the baklava. Save room for the baklava. Flaky, sweet, perfectly honeyed, and the kind of dessert that makes you realize most places have been doing it wrong. It’s a simple thing done really right and a perfect way to end the meal. Mediterranean Cuisine also does catering for all occasions, which makes a lot of sense given the quality and the value they bring to every plate.

Brentwood has been around this restaurant for 24 years, and a lot of people still haven’t discovered it. If that’s you, fix it. It’s the kind of neighborhood gem that deserves a full dining room every single day.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT

I Almost Threw Out My Keurig. It Wasn't Broken.

Every cup from my Keurig started tasting weak, flat, stale — so I unplugged it and stuck it in a closet. Then I learned the dirty secret of grocery store K-Cups: by the time a pod reaches your kitchen, it's usually spent months going from factory to warehouse to truck to shelf. The flavor oils are long gone. Some brands even over-roast to hide it.

The fix wasn't a new machine. It was fresh pods from Angelino's, a family-owned L.A. roastery that roasts, packs, and ships within 3–5 days — straight to your door, from 39¢ a cup. Over 1,000,000 happy customers. 50+ flavors, no subscription required, and 15% off your first order, applied automatically at checkout.

🔎 Last Eaten Review: Chicken Platter

The chicken platter is the move, and the portion size alone will make you do a double take. You get beautifully grilled chicken alongside a fresh salad and hummus, and the whole spread feels like way more food than you paid for. The chicken itself is tender and well seasoned all the way through; the hummus is creamy and fresh tasting in a way that packaged hummus will never come close to, and the salad ties it all together into a meal that feels light and satisfying at the same time. Tons of food, delicious across the board, and the kind of plate that makes you want to come back every week.
