🍽️ Restaurant Run of the Week: San Antonio Taco Co.

Serving up tacos in Nashville since 1984..

🤠 Howdy, Nashville. This is The Nashville Grapevine, the newsletter that brings you (almost) all things Nashville.

Let’s get into it.

SATCO is one of the oldest standing restaurants in Nashville, and yet I feel like they do not get the love they deserve. Located near Vanderbilt’s campus, this Nashville staple has been serving up Tex-Mex cuisine since 1984.

It was started by two Vanderbilt University graduates who were natives of, you guessed it..San Antonio.

Be prepared for a unique ordering system when visiting SATCO… you get in line and fill out what you want on a piece of paper, adding toppings a la carte, which can confuse even the smartest of newcomers at times.

Pro tip: There is free salsa, which is good to know before you go through the line and pay for tomatoes.

🔎 Last Eaten Review: Steak Fajita

You add the toppings a la carte at SATCO, and for this one, I just went with classic guacamole. The steak is seasoned to perfection, and it is a pretty good portion. Their tortillas are handmade, very hard to beat, and for $2.99 plus $.30 for the guacamole, this is one of the best deals around town.
