🍽️ Restaurant Run of the Week: Village Pub & Beer Garden
The kind of neighborhood bar Nashville needs more of, cold cheap beer and all..

🤠 Howdy, Nashville. This is The Nashville Grapevine, the newsletter that brings you (almost) all things Nashville.
Let’s get into it.

If you've been spending time in Riverside Village in East Nashville, you've probably already noticed Village Pub sitting right there on McGavock Pike. It's been a gathering spot for the Inglewood community since 2010, and that alone tells you something. Places like this don't stick around for 15 years in a neighborhood as competitive as East Nashville without doing something right. The vibe is exactly what it says on the tin: your friendly neighborhood watering hole: no pretense, no gimmicks, just a good patio, good people, and cold drinks.
The beer prices are genuinely refreshing in a city where a pint can run you $8 before you blink. I grabbed a $3 sixteen-ounce special on a beer I had never heard of and honestly can't remember the name of, but it was cold and it was good, and I was not complaining one bit. That's the whole point of a place like this. They also run daily specials throughout the week, including Mule Monday, Wine Wednesday, and Mimosa Weekends, so there's almost always a reason to stop in.
The food is decent and gets the job done, but let's be real, the beer and the atmosphere are the main attraction here. What makes Village Pub an even easier sell is the location. Riverside Village is quietly becoming one of the better little food corridors in Nashville right now. Curry Boys BBQ is right next door, and there are several other great spots within walking distance, so you can easily make a whole afternoon or evening out of it.
If you want a laid back East Nashville spot where you're not going to blow your budget and you're not going to feel out of place in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, Village Pub is it. It's a real neighborhood bar and Nashville is always going to need more of those.

🔎 Last Eaten Review: Pretzel Sandwich
Don't skip the pretzel buns. They fit the vibe of this place perfectly, the kind of simple snack that pairs exactly right with a cold cheap beer in your hand. Salty, soft, and easy to share, they're not trying to be anything more than what they are. That's kind of the whole spirit of Village Pub in one bite.
