I Almost Threw Out My Keurig. It Wasn't Broken.

Every cup from my Keurig started tasting weak, flat, stale — so I unplugged it and stuck it in a closet. Then I learned the dirty secret of grocery store K-Cups: by the time a pod reaches your kitchen, it's usually spent months going from factory to warehouse to truck to shelf. The flavor oils are long gone. Some brands even over-roast to hide it.

The fix wasn't a new machine. It was fresh pods from Angelino's, a family-owned L.A. roastery that roasts, packs, and ships within 3–5 days — straight to your door, from 39¢ a cup. Over 1,000,000 happy customers. 50+ flavors, no subscription required, and 15% off your first order, applied automatically at checkout.

Brick Fan Event - A Lego Experience

SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Nashville's LEGO fan weekend lands at the Fairgrounds Expo Hall October 3rd-4th, with massive fan-built displays, hands-on build zones, LEGO Masters contestants and champions on site for meet-and-greets, a full LEGO marketplace, racing, competitions, and 25+ experiences for fans of all ages; tickets start at just $16 and Saturday runs 10 AM to 5 PM, Sunday 10 AM to 4 PM. If you've got kids in your life who love LEGO, this weekend is basically planned for you.

The kids won't stop talking about it, and neither will you!

Nashville Oktoberfest 2026

THURSDAY - SUNDAY

Nashville's longest-running Oktoberfest, 47 years and counting, is back at Bicentennial Capitol Mall October 1st-4th, with German and local beers, live music, German food, keg bowling, a Dachshund Derby, whiskey tasting, and a full VIP experience with unlimited pours and catered food. Thursday is free all day, and Friday is free until 4 PM if you request a ticket online; GA is $10 after that, and VIP runs $197/day or $347 for the full Fri-Sun weekend pass.

Business Insider called it one of the best Oktoberfests outside Munich, and it's literally in your backyard. No excuses!

Nashville Predators Games

THURSDAY & SATURDAY

The Predators kick off the 2026-27 season Thursday, October 1st against the Minnesota Wild for their home opener, then welcome the Dallas Stars back to Bridgestone on Saturday, October 3rd for back-to-back home games to start the year. Two home games in the first week of the season mean two chances to get loud downtown before Oktoberfest takes over the rest of the weekend.

Hockey is back in Smashville!

Oktoberfest at Von Elrod’s

THURSDAY - SUNDAY

Von Elrod's takes Oktoberfest seriously. Thursday and Friday are free all day in the beer garden with DJ Guy Fell spinning from 4-11 PM and nightly stein-holding contests, and Saturday is their big one: street blocked off, 21+, $10 at the door with a free can of Paulaner Oktoberfest when you enter, running 11 AM to 11 PM. Sunday brings it home with full brunch from 10 AM to 2 PM and free admission.

Von Elrod's doesn't miss Oktoberfest weekend!

Science of Spirits

FRIDAY

Adventure Science Center goes 21+ on Friday, October 2 from 6:30-10 PM for Science of Spirits, Brews & Potions, an after-hours takeover with tastings from Belle Meade Bourbon, Honeytree Meadery, New Heights Brewing, Pickers Vodka, and more, alongside live fire chemistry shows, planetarium laser shows, fermentation demos, and a full lineup of open and timed activities throughout the building. Tickets are $80 GA and $50 for designated drivers, with members saving $5.

This one always sells out and always earns it!
