Defy Film Festival

FRIDAY & SATURDAY

East Nashville's Defy Film Festival returns for its 11th year on August 21-22 at Eastside Bowl, packing two nights with short-film blocks spanning thriller, horror, drama, experimental, absurdist comedy, horror-comedy, and a late-night feature, plus filmmaker Q&As after every screening and after-parties both nights. A weekend pass runs $65, day passes are $30 (Friday) or $50 (Saturday), and individual blocks are $15.

No VIP section, no separation between filmmakers and audience, just great weird cinema in East Nashville!

Summer Splash at Nashville Zoo

SATURDAY

Nashville Zoo's Summer Splash presented by ICEE keeps the fun going every Saturday through August, with slip-and-slides, animal-themed sprinklers, bubble zones, and splash pools on Festival Field from 9 AM to 2 PM, this Saturday (August 22) featuring Water Wars, a supervised splash zone for kids 6-12 running from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. All activities are included with regular zoo admission or membership.

A slip-and-slide, splashing animals, and ICEE samples at the zoo; the kids will talk about it all week, and so will you!

Tennessee Titans Preseason Game

FRIDAY & SATURDAY

The Titans host the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in a primetime preseason matchup on Sunday, August 23 at 7 PM at Nissan Stadium. Cam Ward, new head coach Robert Saleh, and a revamped offense get their 2026 home debut. Tickets are still available through the Titans site.

Preseason football with a national spotlight, a Super Bowl champ in town, and Cam Ward under center!

Music City Brewers Fest

SATURDAY

Nashville's original beer festival turns 25 on Saturday, August 22 at Music City Walk of Fame Park, 4 to 9 PM, 21+, with local breweries, a spirits and alcohol alternative area, food trucks, live music from Sam McCrary and The Mix and DJ Rod Youree, and proceeds benefiting the Nashville Humane Association.

Twenty-five years of cold beer on the Walk of Fame, Nashville's done worse things for a Saturday afternoon!

Megan Moroney at Bridgestone Arena

FRIDAY & SATURDAY

Multi-platinum country star Megan Moroney brings her Cloud 9 Tour to Bridgestone Arena for two back-to-back nights: Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, with JP Saxe and Solon Holt opening both nights. Both shows start at 7 PM (doors at 5:30).

If you've got tickets, you already know. If you don't, get on the resale market fast; this is the show of the weekend!
